Silerton officially has a playset in the city park! The swing set and merry-go-round were installed on Nov. 19. Be sure to drive by the park when you get a chance. The new additions really make our park shine. A big thanks goes out to the mayor and city aldermen for working so hard to improve our park. It is wonderful that we still have a few pretty days left for our children to enjoy the new play area.
Just a few reminders come to mind as the holiday season approaches. Mark your calendars for Dec. 5 at 10 a.m. for Christmas decorating in the park. Good company and refreshments will be provided. Dec. 5 is also the last day to order for the fire station’s Christmas bake sale. Your orders will be available for pick-up at the fire station on Dec. 18 starting at 9 a.m. until all orders are filled. Please call Donna Waldrip (731-658-7889) if you are interested in placing an order.
Mary Lynn Lambert brings us some health updates this week.
Please continue to pray for John Jordan, Bill Henning, Wanda King and Brenda Cooper. Lambert shares, “John Jordan is home and showing improvement. Bill Henning is also showing improvement. Wanda King thanks everyone for prayers on her behalf but covets continued prayers. Brenda Cooper has returned home from Jackson-Madison County Hospital.”
In this season of thanks, I am thankful to be part of a town where so many care for one another and strive to give back to our community. I would love to hear what you all are thankful for and how you chose to spend Thanksgiving this year.
