L.W. “BUD” BUTLER – May 10, 1935 – July 19, 2024

L.W. ‘Bud’ Butler, 89, of Henderson passed away July 19, 2024, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Charlie Smith, Tyler Butler and Mike McCutchen speaking. Burial with Military Honors followed at Unity Cemetery. The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday.
He was born in Mifflin on May 10, 1935. His parents were James William and Celden Faucett Butler. He graduated from Chester County High School on May 14, 1953.
He worked for the State of Tennessee survey crew from 1953 until 1958. He entered the U.S. Navy from July 28, 1956, until June 28, 1958. He served aboard the USS Randolph CVA-15 Aircraft Carrier. He was in the US Naval Reserve from 1953 until 1958 when he received an Honorable Discharge.
He worked for the State again from June 1958 until July 1960 when he bought the Queen’s Cup. His mom, Mrs. Celden Butler, and sisters, Faye Butler and Sue Butler Leath, worked for him.
He sold the Queen’s Cup in 1965 and went to work for CIT Finance Company until 1969. He worked for Farm Bureau Insurance as a claim’s adjuster until 1972; then, he opened a shoe store, Magic Valley Shoes, and ran it until 1981.
He got back in the restaurant business until 1988 then went to work for Random House Books Distribution Center in Jackson, retiring in 1998. For two years he drove all over the United States then went to work for Manpower having to retire in 2003 for health problems.
He is survived by sons, Jason (Kathy) of Henderson and Justin (Cybele) Butler Los Angeles, Calif.; grandson, Tyler (Dana Leigh) Butler of Jackson; granddaughter, Brooklyn Butler of Henderson; and great-granddaughter, Briar Butler.  

DWIGHT HUDSON – Sept. 30, 1952 – July 19, 2024

Dwight Leon (Pop) Hudson, 71, of Reagan passed away July 19, 2024, at AHC Westwood Nursing Home in Decaturville.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Darren Martin, Sam McAdams and Kenny Roach officiating.
Burial followed at Bailey Cemetery at Jacks Creek. The family received friends at East Main from noon until 2 p.m. service time on Tuesday.
He was born Sept. 30, 1952 in Henderson County, the son of the late William Howard Taft Hudson and Beulah Inetha Plunk Roach.
He was united in marriage to Carolyn Bailey Foster on Jan. 8, 2005.
After retirement, he worked part time for First Farmers Co-op and enjoyed meeting all of the different people he encountered. He enjoyed camping, cruising around with his wife to find new places to eat and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed taking many trips and cruises with family.
He also loved Nascar, dirt track racing, riding around with Nana and the girls on the side by side, a good game of dominoes and watching his westerns. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Bailey Foster Hudson; a son, Brian (JoAnn) Hudson of Lexington; three daughters, Shanda (Jimmy) Mullins of Lexington, Bailey Moore and Briley “Sissy” Hudson both of Reagan; two stepsons, Blake (Jennifer) Foster of Reagan and Brandon (Tabatha) Foster of Lexington; one stepdaughter, Ashley Foster of Lexington; grandchildren, Brandon Jordan, Allyson Carter, Chloe Foster, Eli Hudson and Bella Carey; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Larry (Wilma) Hudson and Jerry (Brenda) Hudson; and two sisters, Jimmie Nell Tucker and Karen (Randall) Woodard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, WT Hudson and Kenneth Hudson; and an infant sister, Gloria Patricia Hudson.

JULIE CROUSE – March 21, 1957 – July 18, 2024

Julie Inez Crouse, 67, of Henderson passed away July 18, 2024, at her home.
Graveside services were 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at Cave Springs Cemetery with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating.  
She was born March 21, 1957, in Jackson and grew up in Henderson, the daughter of the late Jesse Spencer and Maurine Inez Wood Crouse.
She was a special child who loved Christmas, birthdays, gospel music, country music, and watches.
She loved everybody. She was a member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by four sisters, Joy Burks, Jo Cobb, Barbara Rhodes and Pam Geary.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William Spencer Crouse in 1949.

Lisa Bishop – Jan. 11, 1960 – July 18, 2024

Lisa Dawn Bishop passed from this life on July 18, 2024 at her home in Enville. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, at the Milledgeville Community Church with Bro. Jimmy Dyer and Bro. Robert Conder officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery at Enville. The family received friends at the Milledgeville Community Church from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday and from 9-11 a.m. service time on Monday. She was born Lisa Austin on Jan. 11, 1960.

LOUISE TAYLOR – July 21, 1944 – July 15, 2024

Electa Louise King Taylor, 79, of Henderson passed away July 15, 2024, at her home. Funeral services were 1 p.m. Friday, July 19, at the House of Prayer Church with Bro. Mike Cothren officiating. Burial followed at the House of Prayer Church Cemetery. The family received friends at The House of Prayer Church from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. service time on Friday. She was born July 21, 1944.
