Funeral services for Paul Thomas Peterson, 84, were 2 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Duane Crane officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Cedar Grove. The family receives friends at Crook Avenue from noon until 2 p.m. service time on Sunday.
He was born in Marianna, Ark., on June 20, 1925, the son of the late Robert and Mattie Turner Peterson.
When he was young, he helped his dad farm for several years. He worked at factories, drove a truck, worked at waste management in Henderson and Cabo and worked at a furniture store until he retired in 2017, after having a stroke and being diagnosed with dementia.
He was a faithful member of the Old Path Baptist Church and loved to book gospel singing monthly. He loved the Lord and his church family; they were all special to him.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; two sons, Tim and Joe; one stepdaughter, Pam (Kenneth) Patterson; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, three brothers and a son, James William Peterson.
