Shine up your ruby red slippers, grab your oil can, and join The Chester County Carl Perkins Center for “A Night in Emerald City.” The Center’s 23rd Annual Dinner and Auction will be held on Saturday, April 29, at First United Methodist Church Wright Hall gym. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the event will begin at 6:30 p.m.
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and this year’s theme is “There’s No Place Like a Safe Home.” The local center will close out the month with the dinner and auction celebration at Emerald City.
The Carl Perkins Center for Child Abuse Prevention provides a number of services for children and families, particularly during the legal process, from investigation all the way through prosecution, providing hope and healing for victims of child abuse. The Center provides forensic interviews, victim advocacy services, therapy and parenting classes. In addition, the Center provides a food pantry and assistance with diapers, wipes and other items, depending on donations.
Approximately 175 children receive some type of service each year in Chester County thanks to the local Carl Perkins Center.
The annual dinner and auction is instrumental in funding the many services provided locally through Carl Perkins. Donations for the auction are appreciated.
Tickets or Tables can be reserved online at https://www.carlperkinscenter.org/events/chester-county-dinner-auction-a-night-in-emerald-city or by phone for tickets or more information, 989-7222.
