Phyllis Kay Donaldson, 77, passed away June 27, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were 3 p.m. Monday, June 30, at Palestine Baptist Church with her son Jimmy Donaldson and Bro. Anthony Rowland officiating with burial following in the Palestine Cemetery. The family received friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors - Casey Chapel from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, and then from 1-3 p.m. Monday at the church.
She was born in Chester County, on Jan. 13, 1948, daughter of the late Burl Eugene and Zola Mae Arnold Rowland. She grew up in Chester County and was a 1966 graduate of Chester County High School.
She married Jimmy Donaldson on Jan. 27, 1968, and they spent their 57 years of marriage living in Henderson.
She was primarily a homemaker but also worked for Kolpak in Selmer for 25 years, retiring in 2007.
She was a member of Palestine Baptist Church and was active in Bible classes, served as janitor and was involved in many other activities and ministries.
She was an animal lover and especially enjoyed feeding hummingbirds and, more recently, some pet raccoons. Jimmy usually raised a large garden, and she enjoyed canning vegetables and was an excellent cook. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was loved by all who knew her.
