May 2, 2026 was proclaimed “Lieutenant Colonel Kenneth Rivard Day” in recognition of the local service of LTC Rivard and the 1st Squadron of the 278th Armor Cavalry Regiment, also known as the “Cobra Squadron” of the Tennessee Army National Guard.
A proclamation signed by Henderson Mayor Terry Bell referred to assistance to local residents and surrounding communities, in service to our state and our nation, and noted LTC Rivard’s “incisive leadership” and “prescient strategic foresight” in operations and command. As LTC Rivard transitions to a different role, LTC Kelly Burke will assume command locally.
