The Chester County School Board held a Board of Education meeting at the CCBOE Conference Room on Thursday evening June 13. All members were present with two members, Jeff Harris and Clay Rodgers, attending through a video call.
The Spotlight/Celebration featured Chester County Schools spring sports, presented by Superintendent Troy Kilzer. Kilzer said the boys’ soccer team was the first to win Region and go to State but lost the first match. The girls track team finished overall 15th out of 52 teams accommodating both track and field teams. The baseball team won Region and came short at the Sectional match. The boys’ tennis team won the district tournament for five years running now. They advanced through the Sectionals but lost to Collierville.
The Board unanimously approved the final drafts of the General-Purpose Budgets. Overall, the main adjustment or biggest change of the final draft versus the previous were the proceeds from the Capitol note. Overall, the first week of June, the proceeds from the Capitol note were given and adjustments had to be made to show the revenue coming in to help for the fiscal year.
Ending the meeting, updates were given including – the close of each school year an evaluation/summary of each coach in each sports team for Junior High and High School are given and to be discussed in upcoming meetings. Each head coach and each assistant coach is evaluated and ranked on a number scale of 1-5. Preliminary test results were also discussed. The Board of Education meetings will from now on be held on Tuesdays instead of Thursdays.
