The Chester County Board of Education met in regular session on Tuesday, June 16, with all members present.
The location of the meeting, as well as the spotlight for the night, was the new multi-purpose facility for the school system. Troy Kilzer II shared several of the uses for the facility, including: practice space for the majority of the sports teams at the high school, space for high school athletic classes, including weight training, and an indoor recess location for middle school students.
The board approved the 2026-2027 general-purpose budget unanimously. The board discussed a recommendation from school leadership for a policy revision regarding senior flex status. This revision will put in place stronger standards that students must meet in order to qualify, to avoid students taking advantage of their flex status to simply leave school early. The revision was approved unanimously. The board approved a district policy change that allowed Ashley Jackson to take the role of records custodian, starting July 1. The policy change was approved unanimously. The board heard another recommendation to authorize the first submission of the 2026-2027 School District Fundraisers. The board approved unanimously. The final business item for the night was a recommendation to approve the 2026-2027 Board of Education Meeting Schedule, which passed unanimously.
After the business items, some updates were shared.
• Stephanie Lollar, School Nutrition Supervisor, has provided the food service update to close out the school year.
• Sports coaching evaluations have come in, and the administrators will meet with all the coaches at the beginning of the school year to discuss the results.
