With the postseason looming the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions improved their resume with a 5-1 victory over the (RV) Campbellsville University Tigers to complete the weekend sweep.
The Lady Lions (18-13, 12-6 MSC) did a great job of escaping danger after the Tigers put two runners on base with one out, but worked out of danger to keep CU off the scoreboard. FHU took advantage of an error in the home half of the first to take an early lead.
FHU expanded their lead over Campbellsville (23-14, 7-8 MSC) with Kiersten Mesler smacking her season’s first home run to drive in two runs and make it a 3-0 game. Karli Quillin would later drive two more runs home with a triple to secure the 5-1 victory.
