Shorthanded FHU Lions Tennis pick up victory

Despite being shorthanded, the Freed-Hardeman University Lions defeated the Mississippi University for Women Owls 6-1 on Saturday, February 17.
With FHU’s (3-2) final doubles match being lost by default, the two remaining matches were all Lions with Merlin Bolema and Nolan Laduree taking care of the Owls 6-0 with Theo Devals and Braden Young topping MUW by the same score.
Four of FHU’s five courts of competition against the Owls were sweeps with Merlin Bolema defeating his MUW (1-5) opponent 6-0, 6-0, with Nolan Laduree winning on the second court with the same score. Theo Devals won his court three match 6-1, 6-2 while Braden Young won his match on the No. 4 court 6-0, 6-0. Grant Turner topped his opponent with a 6-0, 6-0 final before MUW’s lone point came with a default victory.
