Last weekend, Silerton Baptist Church held their Vacation Bible School. The theme was “Yee Haw! Celebrating God’s Greatest Gift.” The children learned the story of Jesus’ birth, death and resurrection in the scriptures Luke 2:1-20 and John 3:16. A huge thank you to Debby Ross and Guillermina Tidwell, the Children’s Ministry Leaders, for planning this engaging event. The children learned the Bible through music, games, crafts and wrapped up VBS with a water slide. Also, thank you to the volunteers who helped with registration, meals and all the numerous activities. A big thank you to Mary Lynn Lambert, Jeanie Crouthers and Pastor Charlie, Melanie James, Wanda Cook, Kim Clifton, Gail Mayfield, Kevin Tidwell, Butch Ross, Debbie Dillard, Jamie Fry, Jennifer and Jason Howell, Annette and Ronnie Simer and Melanie Ross for all their help in making this event a success.

Marcus Fry rescued yet another turtle from near certain demise off of Hwy 125. Cousin Robert Fry speculates that Marcus has perhaps been saving the same hapless turtle all this time. Next time, Marcus will ID the turtle with a marker.
