Please pray for Butch Ross’s family at the passing of Larry Allen, Butch’s brother-in-law.
Silerton Baptist Church sang happy birthday to Trudy Stack this past Sunday.
Steve and Linda (Hatch) Russell have a new great-grandson. Timmy and Victoria Burnett are the proud parents of Henry Cole Burnett.
Steve and Linda enjoyed a trip to Pigeon Forge to attend the Quartet Convention. They also were blessed to hear Preacher David Jeremiah. While there, they enjoyed shows at Dollywood. The trip was given to them by their children. Instead of Mother and Father’s Day presents and birthday presents, Tony and Kelly Russell volunteered to drive them on this trip. It was a trip that will be remembered for several years.
Steve and Janice (Stack) Emerson enjoyed their over 3000-mile trip out west. Their first stop was in Hot Springs, Ark., where they enjoyed a hot tub and massage. They traveled through New Mexico. In Texas, they enjoyed Little Grand Canyon and the Cadillac Ranch. They enjoyed the train ride from Durango, Colo., to Silverton, Colo. In Ouray, Colo., they visited Little Switzerland and drove on the Million Dollar Highway. They also enjoyed the sand dunes and the Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park in Colorado. In Oklahoma, the highlight was Elk City. After traveling through the west, Janice was busy the next day cooking white beans and ham hock. It is always good to enjoy home cooked country dishes.
A reminder that the Silerton Volunteer Fire Department will be having their fundraiser potluck on Saturday, Oct. 18. Please consider donating to this fund raiser. Any dishes you want to bring will be appreciated. Please contact Donna Waldrip for any information (731-658-7889).
