The very appreciative Silerton Baptist Church membership had the pleasure of giving Pastor Charlie and Jeanie Christmas presents. Happy Birthday was sung to Shawn Yelverton. Prayers please for Butch and Debby Ross, who are fighting off a nasty bug. Everyone was pleased to have Joe Stack back in church, and everyone was most pleased, but no more so than Marcus Fry, to see how well he looked. Due to weather concerns the Children’s Christmas party has been moved to Friday, Dec. 19.
On the goat front, Marcus reports that a grand total of four kids that have been added to the herd. Under Marcus’ tender, loving care, the herd has prospered. Marcus rescued one of the smaller goats who was in imminent peril, as its neck was badly stuck in the pen door hinge with some exposed metal rods ready to pierce its neck. After some struggle, as the silly thing did not know what was good for it, Marcus extradited it from its near fatal predicament. A whole inch of ice had to be smashed through on their water trough. Then, there was that goat-hungry polar bear that Marcus had to fend off, but that is for next week’s column.
