Silerton Community News

Posted

It was an eventful week for the Silerton community and Silerton Baptist Church. Thankfully, the community’s prayers were heard. Tim James is back at home, healing, and the church looks forward to having him back asap.  Trudy Stack is back home from surgery, much to the relief of her husband Joe. We hope Trudy continues to improve. Prayers are especially asked for all the family members who are tending to Tim and Trudy’s needs. Prayers are also requested for Richard Crowley, and we hope to see him up and about soon.
Mike Hatch enjoyed a week in the east Tennessee mountains, the week after Christmas. Mike joined the Billy and Michelle Watkins family along with their children for a week of relaxation, plenty of good food and games with all the children and eight grandchildren.
On the goat front: Not much to report except the completely accidental mishap of stepping on one of the cat’s tails when it was dark. The excruciating screech (actually more like deep, bloodcurdling groan) of pain could be heard for a mile, but the cat is just fine. An unfortunate incident indeed, but no guilt or blame is felt by Marcus, as all the cats are annoyingly and constantly underfoot and carelessly put their tails in constant peril. So much so that they are fed first just to get them out of the way. A few days later, Marcus did receive a letter from a Jackson law firm. It seems the offended cat lawyered up and is going to sue Marcus in civil court for damages related to anguish and distress. Marcus is not overly concerned, as Joe and his faithful dog Rock will be having a serious discussion with said cat.
