A Good Friday service was held at Silerton Baptist. During the service several poignant and heartfelt personal testimonies were made.
The formerly blank wall behind the baptismal pool at Silerton Baptist Church is in the process of being decorated. A beautiful scene is being painted by the multi-talented Guillermina Tidwell. In addition, a lovely cross made from red veined box elder, sawn and donated by Ronnie Simer, has been mounted. A reminder that on April 12 there will be a house warming event held for Jennifer and Jason Howell in the fellowship hall directly after service at noon. Happy anniversary was sung to Annette and Ronnie Simer to celebrate 39 years of matrimony. Much to the joy of the Silerton community kitchens, the ever-reliant Tidwell hens are back at full-tilt egg production.
Mike and Trish Alexander made a visit to Kuttawa, Ky., took a river walk in Paducah, Ky., and enjoyed the famous floodwall murals. While in Paducah, they had the best BLT ever at Kirchhoff’s Bakery & Deli, founded in 1873. They also enjoyed Patti’s Settlement off Kentucky lake in Grand Rivers, Ky.
Marcus and Jamie Fry were honored to be guests of Butch and Debbie Ross’ place in Toone for an Easter Sunday lunch. In addition to a fantastic meal, we were treated to mouth-watering grilled oyster appetizers. For some it was the first time they had tried an oyster, and their bravery was admired by all, as no doubt was the bravery admired of the first desperate soul in the distant past who ventured to eat an oyster.
