The Frys attended the 2026 Bee Fest at the Pinson Mounds State Archaeological Park this past Saturday. There is no end to the number of fascinating facts one can learn about amazing bees. Did you know that once a queen starts to decline, out she goes, and the colony creates a new queen by simply feeding an ordinary female larvae a specialized food called royal jelly? The Frys enjoy watching the bees snuggle up to the wildflowers behind their house. You know they are out feeding when you see the flowers shake and wiggle.
Silerton Baptist Church had Ron Hale serve as guest pastor as Bro. Charlie was on out-of-state business. The membership was treated to a solo singing by Annette Simer. Happy birthdays were sung to Joe Seavers (Sept. 13) and Mike Alexander (Sept. 17). The church was happy to see Joe back on his 88th birthday. Did you know that John Sevier (Sept. 23, 1745 – Sept. 24, 1815), who served in the American Revolutionary War, was one of the founding fathers of Tennessee and was its first governor, was Joe’s seventh great-grandfather? Preparations for the missionary shoe box drive continue. Please direct questions about volunteering and donations to Debby Ross. On Saturday, Sept. 26, there will be a 2 p.m. movie with popcorn and drinks at the church.
We are happy to announce that Wanda Fry has completed her last cancer treatment this Monday, and she is feeling well. Her husband Robert starts a round of treatments on Sept. 22. Please keep both of them in your prayers.
The Stacks are pleased to have Jackie Reagan visit them from the hinterlands of Michigan. Jackie is the daughter of the ever effervescent Gilbert Lee Stack and sister to our very own Joe Stack. Jackie has already been put to work at the goat farm and removing fallen trees.
