Softball Eaglettes advance in district 12-AAA tournament

The CCHS Softball Team is 2-1 in the district 12-AAA tournament being held at McNairy Central.
The Eaglettes defeated South Side 2-1 in game one of the tourney. They were shut out by district leader Lexington, in the second round 11-0, which put them in the loser’s bracket. They played North Side Tuesday and won 15-0. They are scheduled to play the winner of the South Side, Hardin County game Tuesday.

The Lady Eagles pulled out a close one 2-1 in game two of the district tournament.
Jillian Patterson started the game in the pitcher’s circle and lasted six innings. She struck out five.
Patterson was relieved in the seventh inning by Addy Parker who struck out three.
At the plate the Eaglettes were able to put together six hits and two RBIs.
Patterson and Brentlee Burgess accounted for two hits each. Georganna Pickens and Lillie Swope had a hit each.

CCHS vs Lexington

Last Friday will go down in the record books as one of the Eaglettes’ worst losses of the season when Lexington shut them out 11-0 in game four of the district tournament.
The Lady Eagles had a tough time at the plate with only five hits - one each by Addison Newland, Georganna Pickens, Jillian Patterson, Karsyn Knipper and Emma Cox.
Addy Parker pitched four innings, striking out four and walking two.
The loss pushed the Eaglettes to the loser’s bracket for the remainder of the tournament.

CCHS vs North Side
15-0
The Lady Eagles had the weekend to simmer over their devastating loss to Lexington the week before.
They came ready to play Monday and took out their revenge on North Side shutting them out 15-0.
Chester County used two pitchers in the contest. Addison Newland started the game and struck out three and walked one. Chloe Teague came in relief for the remainder of the shortened game with three strike outs.
The Eaglettes were hot in the batter’s box putting up 17 hits and 13 RBIs.
Two Chester County batters recorded three hits each. They were Newland and Karsyn Knipper. Addy Parker, Brentlee Burgess, Georganna Pickens and Lille Swope compiled two hits each while Anna Crouse, Jillian Patterson and Jordyn Cobb had a hit apiece.
