“Certainly you made my mind and heart; you wove me together in my mother’s womb. I will give you thanks because reverently I am distinguished. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. My bones were not hidden from you; when I was made in secret and sewed together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw me when I was inside the womb. All the days ordained for me were recorded in your book, before one of them came into existence” (Psalm 139:13-16). “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you…” (Jeremiah 1:5). “Did you not pour me out like milk, and curdle me like cheese? You clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews” (Job 10:10-11, these figuratively describe formation of a child in the womb). “Let the day on which I was born perish, and the night that said, ‘A man-child’ has been conceived” (Job 3:3). “‘Behold! The virgin will conceive in her womb and give birth to a son, and they will call his name Emmanuel’ (which translated is God with us” (Matthew 1:23, quote from Isaiah 7:14, predictive prophecy). “In this material world life comes from life, after its own kind” (Law of Biogenesis). 23 chromosomes from the male and 23 from the female are required (Law of biology). “…Be fruitful, and multiply…” (Genesis 1:28).
Losing a child whether through miscarriage or choosing to end their life in the womb is a traumatic experience. My extended family has experience in this. It is never easy and may leave sorrow upon sorrow for years to come. I remember my father speaking to me about this topic as a youth. I do not remember what I said to him. When grief is created in our lives, we need support from others who are willing to walk with us no matter how long it takes. Sunrise Aftercare is here to do just that; if we may be of service, call David at 731-879-6284. This is Sunrise Aftercare.
