A teacher’s assistant at Chester County Junior High School was booked into the Chester County Jail last week and charged with one count of assault – physical contact.
Taryn Swain, 23, who worked in the special education department has been employed by the school system since July 2024.
She was indicted by the Chester County Grand Jury and is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment Friday. She has been released from jail after posting a $1,000 bond.
According to a spokesperson at the board of education, Swain has been terminated from her position.
No other details were available due to the ongoing investigation.
