The Tennessee Renaissance Festival is officially underway, kicking off its 40th anniversary season this past weekend at Castle Park in Arrington with strong attendance and ideal spring weather.
Festival organizers report that opening weekend ticket sales were slightly over 19,500, with guests taking full advantage of sunny skies and mild temperatures. True to tradition, many attendees arrived in a wide array of costumes, adding to the immersive atmosphere that has made the festival a Middle Tennessee favorite for four decades.

The festival will continue Saturdays and Sundays throughout May, along with Memorial Day Monday, offering visitors multiple opportunities to step into the 16th-century English village of Covington Glen. Each weekend features a unique theme, along with live entertainment, artisan vendors, food, and interactive experiences.
Upcoming themed weekends include:
• Isle of Skye (May 23–25): A Celtic-inspired weekend honoring early Britons, complete with kilts, music, and cultural flair.
• Echoes of Olympus (May 30–31): Step into the age of myth with gods, goddesses, and legendary heroes as ancient Greece comes to life.
Throughout the month, guests can enjoy jousting, live music, costumed performers, a bustling marketplace, and immersive experiences for all ages.
The Tennessee Renaissance Festival is open Saturdays and Sundays in May from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., along with Memorial Day Monday. It takes place at Castle Park, 2135 New Castle Road in Arrington.
