Tennis teams shut out Crockett County

Chester County’s girl’s and boy’s tennis teams swept a match last week against Crockett County.
Both teams shut out the Cavalier’s 7-0 in both singles and doubles. In girls’ singles, Claire Summars (W 8-5), Hallie Lockridge (W 8-3), Addy Franks (W 8-1), Alyssa Lyons (W 8-0), and Abbie Greene (W 8-0) In doubles action, Summars and Franks defeated their opponents 8-5. Lockridge and Lyons won 8-1. Camryn Connor and Audrey Kiestler won 8-2. Gentry White and Claudia Bailey won their match 6-0. The Eagles won each of its matches as well. Those recording victories were Lane Paton (W 8-2), Raiden Harvey (W 8-1), Luke Melton (W 8-1), Jack Rudder (W 8-1), Brady Wells (W 8-4), and Landon Ketchum (W 8-0). Paton and Melton won their doubles match 8-1 while Harvey and Kestler won 8-5. The CCHS tennis teams also competed last Monday against University School of Jackson, winning the match 6-1. CCHS vs USJ Boys Singles: Paton (L 3-8), Melton (L 0-8), Harvey (L 5-8), Rudder (L 1-8) and Wells (W 6-1). Doubles: Paton and Melton (L 4-8), Harvey and Ketchum (W 8-5) and Rudder and Ian Harris (L 1-8).
