Thomas Lynn Gaugh, 68, affectionately known as Tom or Tommy, of Pinson passed away on April 7, 2025.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 12, at Shackleford Funeral Directors in Henderson with burial at New Friendship Cemetery in Beech Bluff.
Pallbearers included Glenn Gaugh, Robert Gaugh, Parker Gaugh, Kelton Gaugh, Brent Pearce, and Taylor Lavenue with honorary pallbearers Charles Threadgill, Kenneth Simpson and Tyler Cooper. Donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis.
Born in Jackson, he was known for his kindness, generosity and sense of humor. He attended Southside High School in Jackson and graduated from Beech Bluff High School in 1974. After high school, he initially built houses with his dad. He then worked for Jackson Edwards Bag Company for about 10 years before retiring in January 2023 from Pinnacle Foods (Quaker Oats) after 35 years as a maintenance mechanic.
He is survived by his wife of six years, Teresa Vandiver Gaugh; his mother, Doris Bain McKinney; his children, Thomas Jr. (Jennifer) Gaugh and Mary Ann (Aaron) Lanham; his siblings, Garey (Debbie) Gaugh, Lee (Diane) Gaugh, Neil (Lori) Gaugh and Curt (Paula) McKinney; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; his late wife Peggy Gaugh’s family, including siblings Linda Pruitt, Brenda Dinwiddie, Jeanna (Darren) Volner, and parents-in-law Mary and Billy Ray; his mother-in-law, Bea Vandiver; sons Ben (Rita) Osborne and Christopher (Susan) Osborne; brothers-in-law, Roger (Regina) Vandiver and Wade (Rhonda); sister-in-law, Sherry Lonon; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Peggy Gaugh; his father, James Gaugh; his dad, Owen McKinney; and his sister, Darla Gaugh.
