Patel, Eagles blank Dyer County 6-0

Posted

Chester County got a strong night on the mound and just enough offense when it mattered, shutting out Dyer County 6-0 Friday night.
RJ Patel was in control from the start and never really let Dyer County get comfortable. He scattered just two hits over seven innings and worked out of a couple of small jams to keep the visitors off the board.
The game stayed quiet early, with both teams struggling to string much together. That changed in the fifth.
Chester County broke things open with a six-run inning, taking advantage of a few timely hits and some free passes. Dayton Lemmings got things going, and the Eagles kept it rolling from there. Ethan Rhodes, Lane Estes and Jaden Weaver all came through with RBI hits during the stretch and a defensive miscue helped add a couple more.
That one inning ended up being all the Eagles needed.
Weaver led the way at the plate with two hits, while Lemmings, Estes, Rhodes and others chipped in key at-bats throughout the night. It wasn’t one big swing—it was a lineup that kept putting the ball in play and making things happen.
Defensively, Chester County played a clean game behind Patel, turning routine plays into outs and keeping any momentum from building for Dyer County.
