The featured exhibit at this year’s West Tennessee State Fair is a diorama of the Montezuma cotton gin and Fletcher’s Dairy Farm, created by Darryl Cox at 1/16 scale. The dairy farm is a newly finished addition, while the Cotton Gin has been on display at the Delta Heritage Museum in Brownsville. The exhibit building was a busy stop earlier this week as people dropped off their entries of homemade crafts, crops and baked goods. Photos by Holly Roeder, Independent

The West Tennessee State Fair begins today, Thursday, Oct. 15, and continues through Saturday, Oct. 24. Gates open to the public at 5 p.m., following Opening Ceremonies at 4:30. The 10-day run will be packed with events and entertainment.
After several decades with no local fair, the West Tennessee State Fair made the move to Chester County for the first time last year, reviving an old time tradition of a true country fair. Celebrating our agricultural roots, the fair will feature blue ribbons and livestock shows, along with rodeos, wrestling, rides, games, fair food, music, lawnmower races, talent show, tractor show, fried pie competition, mutton busting and hundreds of exhibits. Check out the full schedule of events on our West TN State Fair Page. We’ll see you at the fair
