Fall Rummage Sale Oct. 12-15
The Freed-Hardeman University Associates will be holding their Fall Rummage Sale Oct. 12-15 at the National Guard Armory, 759 E. Main St., Henderson. Times for the sale are as follows: 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, and Thursday, Oct. 13 (all items full price); 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 (all items half price); 7:30 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 15 (bag day - fill a 13 gallon bag for $5 or a 30 gallon bag for $10).
Deanburg Haunted Hollow Oct. 14-15, 21-22 and 28-29
The Deanburg Haunted Hollow dates are Oct. 14-15, 21-22 and 28-29. Admission is $10 each. Hours are 7 p.m.-midnight each night. Credit or debit cards are not accepted; cash or check with proper id only. No refunds. Children 36” or under free. Concessions and restrooms will be available. You can sit by the fire or stay inside and eat if you choose. Everyone is welcome. Proceeds go to upkeep of building and volunteer fire department.
Hunter Education Class Oct. 15
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is hosting a free hunter education class from 5-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, and from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at First Baptist Church in Henderson.
CC Democratic Party
Meeting Oct. 20

The Chester County Democratic Party quarterly meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20. The meeting will take place up stars in the classroom at the Henderson City Hall, 121 Crook Ave, Henderson. Members will discuss the party’s agenda, events for 2022-23 and coming up election. This meeting will be open for all attendees to express their ideas and thoughts about the future. All Democratic resident’s family and friends of Chester County are urged to attend. Hickory Corner Community Center Potluck Oct. 22
The Hickory Corner Community Center is hosting a potluck meal beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22. All are invited to join us for an evening of good food followed by games of Bingo and trivia and door prizes. The Community Center will provide a baked ham. Come on down and bring your favorite side dish and/or dessert and an inexperience Bingo gift, and we will have a cotton-picking good time.
Parkway Christian
Auto Club Oct. 22

Parkway Christian Auto Club will host their 15th annual St. Jude Charity Car & Truck Show on Saturday, Oct. 22 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at 2159 N. Highland Avenue, Jackson, (parking lot of AutoZone). This event is free to the public and will include live music, a bake sale, an auto themed quilt raffle and a 50/50 drawing. To enter a vehicle for judging; there is a $25 registration fee to enter the first vehicle, $10 for the second vehicle. Top 40 Awards, Best of Show, Best Paint, Best Interior and Best Engine. Jacks Creek Fire Station Stew Sale Oct. 29
Jacks Creeks Volunteer Fire Station will hold a stew sale Saturday, Oct. 29, at 10 a.m. until sold out. Location is Hwy. 100 E at Hwy. 22 A. $20 a gallon. Bring your own container. Stew will be ready by 10 a.m.
Pinson Ruritan Stew Oct. 29
The Pinson Ruritan Stew Sale will be Oct. 29. Stew will be ready after 7 a.m. and will go until 9 a.m. Call 731-988-5240 to reserve. There will also be a bake sale. Bring your own container if possible. If you have any trouble getting the 988 number, call Liz at 731-520-0251.
Glendale Community Center’s Halloween Party Oct. 29
The Glendale Community Center’s Halloween Party is at 6 p.m. Oct. 29. They will be serving chili, hot dogs, homemade desserts, etc. There will be a costume contests for all ages,  fish pond  and cake walk. This is the annual fundraiser for maintenance of the building.
