Early Voting April 15-30
Early Voting for the May 5 local Republican and Democrat Primaries will take place in the Election Annex located at 126 Crook Avenue behind the Courthouse from April 15-30. The polls will open every Monday through Saturday at 10 a.m. during this period. Polls will close at 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Polls will close at 7 p.m. Thursday nights and at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon. All voters are eligible to vote early during the early voting period.

FHU Spring/Summer Rummage Sale April 22-25
The Freed-Hardeman University Associates will hold their Spring/Summer Rummage Sale April 22-25 at the National Guard Armory, 759 E. Main St., Henderson. Times for sales are 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday, April 22 (items full price); 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, April 23 (items full price); 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, April 24 (items half price); and 7:30 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 25 (bag day sale – fill 13-gallon bag for $5 or 30-gallon bag for $10).

CC Democratic Party Meeting April 23
The Chester County Democratic Party will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 23, in the classroom at Henderson City Hall, 121 Crook Ave., Henderson. Members will discuss the party’s agenda, events for 2026 and plans for upcoming elections. The meeting is open to all Democratic residents of Chester County are encouraged to attend and share ideas. Lip Sync Dance Battle Dinner and Auction April 25
The Carl Perkins Center will host “An Evening with the Stars” Lip Sync Dance Battle Dinner and Auction on April 25 at First Methodist Church, 131 North Ave. Doors will open 5 p.m. with the event beginning at 6 p.m.

Line Dancing
April 28- May 26
Join Chester County UT Extension and Family & Consumer Sciences for free community line dancing from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays (Apr. 28-May 26) at the Farmer’s Market Pavilion in Henderson. This event is open to all ages.
Volunteer Day May 2
Rescheduled due to weather: The City of Henderson, in partnership with the Henderson/Chester County Chamber of Commerce, invites you to join the community-wide Volunteer Day to help spring-clean the downtown area from 7 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 2. They will be cleaning up shrub beds, picking up trash, beautifying downtown and working alongside the Chamber and the County to begin establishing a community garden at the corner of North Ave and Hart Street. Bring a friend and a garden tool. All volunteers are welcome.
Community Baby Shower May 2
A Community Baby Shower and Family Engagement Event honoring mothers-to-be, new mothers and families with children up to five will be held at the Chester County Senior Center, 2467 E Main St., from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 2. For more information, call the Chester County Health Dept. at 989-7108.
Class of 1976 50 Year
Reunion May 30
The Chester County High School Class of 1976 50 year class reunion will be at Saturday, May 30, at First Baptist Church in Henderson. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with dinner being served at 6 p.m. Registration forms are being mailed out in early March. RSVP by April 30. Alumni Day June 6
Chester County High School Alumni Association’s Annual Alumni Day will be held at 10 a.m. June 6 in the CCHS Cafeteria. Please make plans to attend and enjoy good food and fellowship. We ask that you use the ad that will appear in the Independent or on the Alumni’s Facebook page to let us know if you plan to attend. We need a head count by May 30.
