Join Chester County UT Extension and Family & Consumer Sciences for free community line dancing from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays (Apr. 28-May 26) at the Farmer’s Market Pavilion in Henderson. This event is open to all ages.
Bark in the Park May 9
The second annual Bark in the Park will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at Gene Record Memorial Park, on N. Church Avenue, in Henderson. This event benefits the Henderson animal Shelter and will feature a singing competition, food, music, entertainment, princesses and superheroes, vendors and face painting.
Mobile Market May 11
There will be a mobile Market offering produce and pantry staples from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 11 at Cool Springs Missionary Baptist Church, 306 Harmon St., in Henderson. This is a Second Harvest Food Bank event and is free and open to anyone needing additional food assistance.
Hickory Corner Community Center Homecoming May 23
The Hickory Corner Community Cetner is hosting its annual homecoming beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at its location on Highway 225. Available for purchase will be pulled pork barbecue plates with baked beans and slaw. Also available will be barbecued bologna, hot dogs, chips, desserts and soft drinks. Activities include an antique tractor display, musical entertainment from 11 a.m.-noon, a noon cake auction, a meet and greet with local candidates and a cake walk. There will also be a silent auction, which will end at 1 p.m. Everyone is invited to join us for a period of good food, fellowship and fun. Class of 1976 - 50 Year Reunion May 30
The Chester County High School Class of 1976 50 year class reunion will be at Saturday, May 30, at First Baptist Church in Henderson. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with dinner being served at 6 p.m. Registration forms are being mailed out in early March. RSVP by April 30. Alumni Day June 6
Chester County High School Alumni Association’s Annual Alumni Day will be held at 10 a.m. June 6 in the CCHS Cafeteria. Please make plans to attend and enjoy good food and fellowship. We ask that you use the ad that will appear in the Independent or on the Alumni’s Facebook page to let us know if you plan to attend. We need a head count by May 30.
America 250 Celebration June 27
Celebrate America’s 250 with friends and family in a fun-filled festival atmosphere! The Chester County 250 America Celebration will be from noon until 9 p.m. Saturday, June 27 on the Chester County Courthouse Lawn in downtown Henderson. There will be music, entertainment, living history exhibits and reenactors, food trucks and treats, a parade, tree dedication and fireworks.
