Women’s golf ends round one in fourth

Freed-Hardeman University’s women’s golf program finished their first round at the East Tennessee Collegiate with a 313 (+25) score to settle in fourth place.
Competing as an individual, Reagan Malone had the best score for the Lady Lions, mastering the par-4s with birdies on holes five, eight, 10, 16, and 18 in addition to a birdie on the par-5 ninth. Her 73 (+) puts her in a tie for sixth.
In the team scoring, Makenzie Wilson led the way with a 74 (+2). Carding birdies on the par-5 15th and par-4 18th holes, her 12 pars helped her earn a share of ninth place.
Riya Key collected a birdie on the par-4 sixth hole to finish with 78 (+6) and tied for 15th place. Maria Ortiz had a birdie on the par-4 18th hole to tie for 28th place with 80 (+8)
Ansley Pratt and Hannah Ruth Walton rounded off the Lady Lions with 81 (+9) each. Pratt had birdies two par-4s and two par-5s while Walton earned 11 pars.
