Sweetly Ever After will be closing their doors for the last time July 23, according to a recent announcement by owner Glenda Baker.
The bakery has served the Henderson community for eight years, providing an assortment of sweets, soups, sandwiches and more from their former location in downtown Henderson and more recently at 1212B U.S. Hwy 45N.
Baker said after eight successful years she and husband Donald have decided to retire, and anticipate spending more time with family. The decision did not come lightly, and comes with respect to an ever-expanding consistently growing business. “I have the BEST customers,” Baker shared. “You have been faithful customers through many different phases of this business. When we moved to our new location almost two years ago, you moved with us and helped us continue to grow. Then, as we all faced the pandemic, you stood strong with us and helped us continue to grow. There has never been a downward trend in our business and for that we are grateful. It has always been growing sweeter every day. Nothing about this business has caused me to make this decision to retire. I just feel it is time for me to step back and enjoy my family and especially my grandchildren!”
While there is a very limited number of special order cake slots available, Sweetly Ever After will continue serving their chicken salad, potato soup and, of course, cupcakes, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays through Friday, July 23.
