MONTH OF DECEMBER – Book Sale! We have lots of Christian fiction and nonfiction, adult fiction books, young adult books, and children’s easy readers and chapter books.

High School Book Club
The Chester County Library is starting a High School Book Club which will begin in February of 2022. Meetings will occur on the first Thursday of each month during February, March, and April at 3:30 p.m. Meetings will be held in the conference room of the library, but there will also be a virtual meeting option for those who are uncomfortable with meeting in person, are sick, or unable to attend for any reason in person. Board Meeting Summary
During the most recent library board meeting, which took place at the library on November 18, 2021, the library board made some changes to our policies and procedures. A full listing of the board minutes and our policies can be found on our website: chestercountylibrary.net. A summary can be found below. Please know that no one in the library desires to have to utilize this policy. This policy has been created in an effort to keep materials in good/working condition, our building in a clean and organized manner, and for the safety and wellbeing of our staff and patrons.
Effective Monday, November 22, 2021, there is a misconduct clause in the library policy which addresses three main points; hotspots being returned in the dropbox, misconduct of any form within the library, and materials being returned in poor condition needing to be replaced.
Hotspot Changes: All hotspot users will be required to sign a new and updated contract which includes the misconduct in the library hotspot policy. In summary, if a hotspot is returned in the dropbox, the first offense will result in a 14 business day ban from being put back on the hotspot waiting list. A second offense will be a 28 business day ban, and the third offense will be a one year ban.
Misconduct in the Library: Cursing at library staff members will be considered zero tolerance. Acts such as not following any library policies and/or rules, staff member requests to patrons, disturbances and intentional misplacement of items in the library or on library shelves, vandalism, theft of any library property, etc., will result in a verbal warning. After a verbal warning, the first written warning will result in a 14 business day ban from all library privileges, the second written warning in a 28 business day ban from all library privileges, and the third warning a patron will be required to go before the library board to determine appropriate time length of ban due to actions by the patron.
Materials returned in poor condition: This policy addresses materials that are returned in poor condition and especially materials that are returned in a condition where we are unable to check the item out to another patron. If this occurs, patrons will be required to pay to replace the item. No other materials can be checked out until the item(s) are paid for.
December 2021 Book Sale
The WTH Foundation, Friends of the Library Book Sale will take place during the month of December. We have weeded our collection, and we have many Christian fiction materials, Inspirational/Christian non-fiction materials, young adult books, children’s easy readers, juvenile chapter books, as well as some DVDs and a lot of adult fiction.
Prices are $3 for a bag of books (only books) – bag will be supplied by the library; Hardback books – 50 cents; Paperback books – 25 cents; Audio books – $2; CDs and DVDs – $1 each; VHS Tapes – free; TV Series – (2 of fewer discs) $2; TV Series – (3 or more discs) $3
We also have misc. computer cords, keyboards, some printer toner/ink, and mice for sale! Cash or check accepted only.
