West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation activates disaster fund

In response to the catastrophic weather events of December 10, which affected several West Tennessee counties, the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation is once again activating its Disaster Relief Fund. This fund, which was first established in response to the 1999 tornados that severely impacted Madison County, continues to aid community members after a disaster. The Foundation will work with local governments and community agencies to provide support to those impacted by Friday’s storms.
 “In previous times of hardship, West Tennesseans have stepped up to help our neighbors. I am certain this time will be no different,” said Foundation President Frank McMeen.
 Donations to the Disaster Relief Fund can be made securely online at www.wthfoundation.org/giving. Select Disaster Relief from the drop down menu under I want to support… Checks may also be mailed to The Foundation, c/o Disaster Relief Fund, 74 Directors Row, Jackson, TN 38305.
 “In good, and in times of disaster, we support each other in West Tennessee,” said City of Jackson Mayor Scott Conger. “We look out for one another.”
 The West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation was established in 1985 to strengthen the health and well-being of our region by serving as a catalyst for positive changes in healthcare, education, the arts, and other causes.  It provides philanthropic support for West Tennessee Healthcare and its eighteen county service area, and it enhances the quality of life for local residents by supporting programs, initiatives, and organizations serving rural West Tennessee.
