Early Voting now-April 28
Early Voting for the Republican Primary will take place April 13–28 in the Early Voting Annex at 126 Crook Avenue. The Early Voting Polls will be open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8 a.m.-4p.m.; Thursday 8 a.m.-7p.m.; and Saturday 8 a.m.-noon.

4-H Camp Registration now-May 16
The UT Extension office is now registering campers to attend this year’s Junior 4-H Camp and Junior High 4-H Camp at Ridley 4-H Center in Columbia. Any student in fourth-eighth grades (as of Jan. 1, 2016) can attend. For camp dates and registration fees, call 989-2103. The deadline to sign up is May 16.

CC Democratic Party
Meeting April 21

The Chester County Democratic Party quarterly meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21. The meeting will take place up stars in the classroom at the Henderson City Hall, 121 Crook Ave, Henderson. Members will discuss the party’s agenda, events for 2022 and coming up election. This meeting will be open for all attendees to express their ideas and thoughts about the future. All Democratic residents who are eligible voters of Chester County are urged to attend. Hickory Corner Community Center Homecoming April 23
The Hickory Corner Community Center is hosting its annual homecoming beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, at its location on Hwy. 225. Available for purchase will be barbecue chicken plates with baked beans, potato salad and dessert. Hot dogs and soft drinks will also be available. Activities include an antique tractor show, musical entertainment at noon followed by an a silent auction at 12:30 p.m., a meet and greet with candidates seeking office in the upcoming election and a cake walk. FHU Associates Spring Rummage Sale April 27-30
The Freed-Hardeman Associates will be holding their Spring Rummage Sale, April 27-30 at the National Guard Armory, 759 E. Main St., Henderson. Times are as follows: from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, and Thursday, April 28 (all items full price); from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, April 29 (all items half price); and from 7:30 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 30 (bag day – fill a 13 gallon bag for $5 or 30 gallon bag for $10)

Deanburg Community Club Homecoming April 30
Deanburg Community Club, 385 Deanburg Road, will be celebrating their Homecoming at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30. Duane (Bubba) Edgin will be cooking barbeque chicken, barbeque bologna or hot dogs to be served around noon. These can be bought by themselves or as a plate that includes baked beans, coleslaw, roll, drink and dessert. There will be a silent dessert auction, games outside and karaoke in the pavilion. All candidates eligible for votes in District 3 are invited to sign up to give a three to five minute speech. For more information contact Judy Loftis at 989-5823.

CC Historical Society May 2
The Chester County Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. May 2 in the Senior Center. Roger Holton will present the newly discovered, unheard recording of Henderson’s own Waynell Jones. Hear a good program and visit with your friends. All are welcome. 

CCHS Alumni Day June 4
Chester County High School Alumni Assocation’s Annual Alumni Day returns beginning at 10 a.m. June 4 at the Chester Co. High School cafeteria. Please look for ad in the paper for registration form.
