SWHRA Head Start Job Fair March 9
Southwest Human Resource Agency Head Start is sponsoring a Career/Job Fair from 9 a.m.-noon on Thursday, March 9, at the Chester County Head Start Training Room, 1495 White Ave. For more information, contact Gloria Holiday, Family Engagement Assistant Manager, or Sharla Franklin, FACP/ERSEA Manager, at 731-989-5111.
Jacks Creek Community Club Meeting March 9
Jacks Creek Community Club will meet at Community Church from 6-7 p.m. March 9. Bring your favorite dish and enjoy the guitar music with Jerry Lowe and Mike McCutkin. Ten dollar membership dues can be paid that night. We have decided to meet four times a year – March, June, September and December. No letters will be sent out – jot these months down and mark second Thursday of these four months. Come and join and enjoy fellowship!
Big Country Breakfast and Bake Sale March 11
Montezuma Community Center will be hosting our “Big Country Breakfast and Bake Sale” from 7-10 a.m. on Saturday, March 11. Come out and enjoy homemade biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, tenderloin, coffee, juice or milk. Plates will be $7. We need volunteers to make baked goods for the bake sale. If you can not bring it that morning, contact one of the center members and arrange to drop it off early. Baked goods will be priced accordingly.
CC Retired Teachers Meeting March 15
Chester County Retired Teachers will meet at noon on Wednesday, March 15, at Snookum’s Restaurant. The sponsor is Community Bank. The service project is monetary donations to Mrs. Sandy Lewis’s and Mr. Eric Newsom’s Special Education classes at East Chester Elementary School. The program will be a tour of Quality Manufacturing Company led by Mrs. Heather Griffin. Please make plans to attend and invite any retired teacher, teacher assistant, administrator, staff personnel, or bus driver as a guest. 
Hickory Corner St. Patrick’s Day Party March 18
The Hickory Corner Community Center will be hosting a St. Patrick’s Day Party beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 18, with a potluck meal. The Center will furnish the meat, and everyone is invited to attend. Bring side dishes and desserts and inexpensive bingo gifts. Wear your green outfits and come join us for an evening of good food, fellowship and fun.
Hilltop Fire Department Fundraiser March 18
The Hilltop Fire Dept. will host a fundraiser at the New Friendship Community Center beginning at 5 p.m. March 18. Hamburger or hotdog plates, which include chips, beans, dessert and a drink, will be for sale for $10 per plate. There will also be an auction and cake auction, and donations are welcome. CC Republican Meeting March 20
The next quarterly meeting of the Chester County Republican Party is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 20, at in the Council chambers on the 2nd floor of Henderson City Hall in Henderson. After a (brief) business meeting, the Bi-Annual Election for the five elected positions on the Chester County GOP’s Executive Committee will be held. Whether you’re happy or unhappy with the Chester County GOP then come out and vote. Nominations for these elected positions, except for the Chair, may be made by any Bonafide Republican during the elections. There are special requirements for candidates seeking to be Chair. Anyone with questions concerning the Election is asked to send a query to chestercountyTNGOP@gmail.com or call Chad Cherry, Chair of the Chester County GOP, at 731-608-1523. After the elections there may be some preliminary discussion on the county GOP’s budget and goals and objectives for 2023. FHU Associates Rummage Sale March 22-25
The Freed-Hardeman University Associates will be holding their Spring Rummage Sale, March 22-25 at the National Guard Armory, 759 E. Main. St., Henderson. Times for the sale are as follows: 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday, March 22 (full price); 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, March 23 (full price); 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, March 24 (half price); 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, March 25 (fill a 13-gallon bag for $5 or a 30 gallon bag for $10).
CC Democratic Party Reorganization Convention March 25
The Chester County Democratic Party will hold a Reorganization Convention to elect new leaders on March 25. The meeting will take place at Henderson City Hall, Council Chamber on the second floor. Doors open for registration at 11 a.m. Convention start time is 11:30 a.m. Local Democrats will elect a Chair, Vice Chair(s), Secretary, Treasurer and the Executive Committee members from all areas of the county for a two-year term. All Democrats who are residents of and who are registered voters of Chester County are urged to attend to discuss the party’s agenda and events for 2023-2024. During the Convention the voting delegation will adopt County Party bylaws and elect new leadership. The County Party Reorganization Convention welcomes all Chester County Democrats. Attendees should arrive early to complete credentialing forms and be admitted to the convention prior to a.m. when the meeting will begin. Class of 1968 Reunion May 6
The Chester County High School Class of 1968 will hold their 55th class reunion on Saturday, May 6. The reunion will be held at the Brown-Kopel Business Center on the Freed-Hardeman University campus at the corner of East Main St. and Hamlett Ave. The building will open at 4 p.m. for socializing with class members before the meal at 6 p.m. The cost will be $25 per person. The deadline to register will be April 22 and payments can be made to Keith Smith at P.O. Box 146, Henderson, TN 38340.
