American Legion Commemorative Ceremony May 25
American Legion Davidson-Haltom Post 157 in Henderson will host a commemorative ceremony at 11 a.m. Memorial Day, May 25, in the Council Chambers on the second floor of Henderson City Hall in Henderson to honor all military veterans who willingly sacrificed themselves to safeguard the United States of America. The public is encouraged to attend the approximately one-hour ceremony. A wreath will be placed at the war memorials on the grounds of the Chester County Courthouse immediately following the commemorative ceremony. Attendees are then invited to lunch afterwards at the Chester County Senior Center at 247 East Main Street in Henderson.
Cookies for Cancer Mother’s Day Surprise
Cookies for Cancer has a big surprise for Mother’s Day! Several local restaurants are going to be giving us coupons to be give away. Here is how it works: place your dessert order, and upon pick-up you will reach into our Happy Basket and draw for one coupon to use at a Chester County Restaurant. Leave your mother’s name on the Beth Sappington Everitt Facebook or Chester County Bulletin Facebook page for a Wonderful Spring Arrangement donated by Essary’s Florist. Call your dessert order in to Betth Everitt at 731-658-6347. You can order 9×13 cakes or other desserts – 9” pies or four fired pies for $8 each. Cookies at $4 for two baker’s dozen and many varieties available. Call for more details and to place your orders now.
CC Head Start Accepting Applications
Southwest Head Start is now taking application on three- and four-year old children for Chester County Head Start. There are no fees for services. Let us take your application by phone. Head Start offers research-based Creative Curriculum used by teachers to promote school readiness skills; three star rated classroom by the TN DHS licensing; a nutritious breakfast and lunch served; comprehensive services including: health, mental health, dental, nutrition, family services, and parenting skills offered using the Ready Rosie Parent Curriculum; and volunteer services that promotes parent and community engagement
Annual Alumni Day Postponed
The Chester County High School Alumni Association has Postponed the Annual Alumni Day scheduled for June 6, 2020.  We will post updates as they become available on our Facebook page and in this section.
Pinson Ruritan Stew Rescheduled
The Pinson Ruritan Stew sale has been rescheduled.
Pancake Breakfast Rescheduled
The all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast in Wright Hall at First United Methodist Church has been rescheduled for a later date. You may redeem previously purchased tickets on the rescheduled date or request a refund.
Easter Egg Hunt and Free Easter Dinner Rescheduled
“Cookies” for Cancer Second Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Free Easter Dinner will be rescheduled for a later date. RSVP is required to Beth Everett at 731-658-6347 or email bethriva04@yahoo.com to make sure we have enough food to feed everyone attending. We do ask that everyone coming for the free dinner make a donation to the American Cancer Society. Dinner will consist of baked ham, potato casserole, vegetable and dessert.
