Library Book Sale now-30
The Chester County Library Friends of the Library book sale will be going on from Sept. 1-30 during normal business hours! We have many great teen/young adult, children’s, juvenile and adult books available for purchase! Hardback books are 50 cents, paperbacks are 25 cents or a bag of books (the library provides the bag) is $3. DVDs are $1, TV series are $2 for 2 discs or fewer and $3 for 3 discs or more, CDs are $1, audiobooks are $2, and VHS tapes are free. We hope to see you during the month of September! 
Chester County Republican Party Meeting Sept. 20
The next quarterly meeting of the Chester County Republican Party (CCRP) is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, in the Council chambers at City Hall on 121 Crook Avenue in Henderson. Items of interest may include the recent initial vote to hold a primary election in 2022 and the decision by the Tennessee Republican Party to charge a filing fee to all Republican candidates. After the business meeting, we will be honored by Mr. Joe Melaro, one of our esteemed County Commissioners from District 4, who will speak on issues concerning all Chester Countians. Rise & Swine Community Breakfast Sept. 21
The Chester County BBQ Festival Rise & Swine Community Breakfast sponsored by Chester County Lions Club & Besso’s Coffee will be from 7-9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21 at the Henderson Church of Christ Fellowship Hall.  Tenderloin, biscuits, gravy, eggs, fruit and coffee will be served.  Carryout will be available.  Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Henderson|Chester County Chamber of Commerce, FirstBank (main branch), Centennial Bank or any Chester County Lions Club member.
Notorious P.I.G. Talent Competition Sept. 24
The Chester County BBQ Festival Notorious P.I.G. Talent Competition will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at the E & T Contracting stage located on the Chester County Courthouse lawn.  Please check in at 6:30 p.m.  Two categories, Youth (15 & under) and Adult (16 & over), will be judged.  Registration fee is $25 and entry forms are available at the Chamber of Commerce or call 731.989.5222.  $250 1st Place in each category and cash prizes for 2nd & 3rd places.

Tea with a Princess
Be our guest at the 43rd Annual Chester County BBQ Festival Tea with a Princess sponsored by Southern Chic Spatique. Enjoy tea with your favorite princess from 10 a.m. 11 a.m.  Dress in your favorite princess outfit and let the magical princess tea begin! Pig Trot 5k/1 Mile Sept. 25
The Chester County BBQ Festival Pig Trot 5k/1 mile sponsored by FirstBank will be Saturday, Sept. 25 at No Xcuse Fitness, 123 Front ST, Henderson, TN.  Registration starts at 7:15 a.m. and the race begins at 8 a.m.  Entry fees are $30 for the 5k and $25 for the 1 Mile.  Register on RaceRoster.com or obtain a registration form at FirstBank (main branch) or No Xcuse Fitness.
Charger’s Mutt Strut Sept. 25
Charger’s Mutt Strut at the 43rd Annual Chester County BBQ Festival! Bring your pet to parade the festival at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25. Registration begins at 1 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce booth! 
Hope Outdoors Oct. 14
Hope Outdoors will host their annual dinner and auction from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 14 at The Barn at Snider Farms in Denmark, TN. Ticket prices are $500 for corporate table, $60 for couples, $40 for a single ticket, $20 for a junior ticket (ages four-13). Children three and under are free. Southwest Head Start Applications now
