Angel Tree Applications
now-Nov. 30
Applications for the Henderson Church of God Angel Tree Program are now available. They can be picked up at the Southwest Community Service Center or the Chester County Library during their hours. All applications must be turned in by Nov. 30, 2023 with all paperwork. You must have birth certificates, social security cards, proof of income, driver’s license, and a recent utility bill. A copy of al requested paper work has to be included with your application or it will not be accepted. For Chester County residents only. For more information contact Sheila Taylor at 608-8934.

FHU Fall Rummage Sale Nov. 1-4
The Freed-Hardeman University Associates will be holding their Fall Rummage Sale, Nov. 1-4, at the National Guard Armory, 759 E. Main St. Times are as follows: 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, and Thursday, Nov. 2, (all items full price); 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, (all items half price); 7:30 a.m.-noon Saturday, Nov. 4, (fill a 13-gallon bag for $5 or a 30 gallon bag for $10). This project by the FHU Associates encourages friendships, spreads joy and provides funds for student scholarships.

CC Historical Society
Meeting Nov. 6
The CC Historical Society will meet Monday, Nov 6, at 7 p.m. at the Senior Center. The night’s speaker will be John Talbot.  He will speak on the History and genealogy of McNairy Co. All are welcome.


Phillips School Reunion Nov. 11
The Phillips School Reunion will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Hickory Corner Community Center on St. Rt. 225 in Hickory Corner with a pot luck meal at noon. Barbeque will be provided. Just bring your favorite side dishes and/or dessert. Everyone is invited even if you did not attend Phillips School but have friends or family who did. Chester County Toy Run
Nov. 12
Franko’s 30th Annual Chester County Toy Run will begin at noon Sunday, Nov. 12, starting at Wal-mart south and ending at the Henderson Elk’s Lodge. This will benefit the Carl Perkins Child Abuse Center. Bring a toy or donation and enjoy the fun, food and raffles. Contact Frank at 989-8183 or 435-6163 for questions.
Seventh Annual Black History Program Feb. 17, 2024
The Seventh Annual Black History Program will be from 2-4 p.m. Feb 17, 2024 at 247 E Main St. in Henderson. We are inviting volunteers to share their talent with our community. Singers, artists, dancers and poets are welcomed. Chester County students are invited to create foldable poster boards about our theme, “African Americans and The Arts.” The poster boards will be displayed at different locations in Henderson for the month of February. Deadline for submitting a poster is Jan 26, 2024. This will be a free event that the entire family can enjoy.
