JULIA MORRIS MCCOY Obituary – July 21, 1951 – Oct. 22, 2019

Julia Mae Morris McCoy, 68, of Henderson passed away Oct. 22, 2019 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Jimmy Burroughs officiating. Burial followed in Unity Cemetery. The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. on Friday.
She was born July 21, 1951 in Henderson, the daughter of the late John A. Morris, Sr. and Ruth Edith Nobles Morris. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1969. She attended Jackson State College.
She worked as a supervisor with the State of Tennessee Property Assessor’s Office. She married Jerry McCoy in 2000, and they owned and operated McCoy Trucking Company. They made their home on White Avenue.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Wayne McCoy of Henderson; a daughter, Kathy Leigh Butler of Henderson; two grandchildren, Tyler Butler and Brooklyn Butler; a special nephew, Adam Sweatt of Pinson; a brother, John A. Morris, Jr. of Jacks Creek; and three sisters, a twin sister, Judy Sweatt of Pinson, Linda Dowdy of Deanburg and Vicky Morris of Henderson.
