James Anthony Frix, of Henderson, passed away on Aug. 24, 2021.
Graveside services were 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at Henderson City Cemetery with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating.
The family received friends at Henderson City Cemetery from 10-11 a.m. Friday.
He was born on Jan. 28, 1960 to James and Maye Frix of Henderson. He, his brother Carey Frix, and their sister Mitzi Graves were raised in Henderson where he graduated from Chester County High School in 1978.
In August 1984, he married Kindra Patterson. Together, they made their home in Henderson, where they raised their two children, Whitney and Wesley.
He was a talented carpenter with an exceptional work ethic, having evidence of his artistry displayed in homes and businesses across west Tennessee. In recent years, he enjoyed working in freight.
In his free time, he was a racing and car-enthusiast and self-taught mechanic. He embraced every opportunity to travel with Kindra on their motorcycles, and he was particularly fond of their travels to the mountains.
His devotion to his family was unparalleled. He was proud of his children, both in their accomplishments and, more importantly, in the lives they have built and lead. Earlier this year, he and Kindra proudly welcomed their first grandchild and his namesake, Wyatt Anthony Frix. He will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and community.
He is survived by his wife Kindra; children Whitney (Malcolm) Cupples of Nashville and Wesley (Mary) Frix of Jackson; grandson, Wyatt Frix; parents, James and Maye Frix; brother, Carey (Nicole) Frix; sister Mitzi (Robin) Graves; father- and mother-in-law, Eddy and Judith Patterson; sister-in-law, Kim Mays; a nephew; and several nieces.
He is preceded in death by his nephew, Ryan Graves.
