BERTHA COTHREN Obituary – Oct. 21, 1938 – June 28, 2020

Bertha Mae Wilkins Cothren, 81, of Henderson passed away Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Adamsville Healthcare. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday at House of Prayer Church with Jerry Cothren and Mike Cothren officiating. Burial followed in the House of Prayer Cemetery. The family received friends at House of Prayer Church from noon until 2 p.m. service time Wednesday.
She was born Oct. 21, 1938 in Hardin County, Hookers Bend Community, and raised at Morris Chapel, daughter of the late Russell Andrew and Edna Clarise Stanfill Wilkins. She graduated from Morris Chapel High School in 1956.
She was a homemaker and had worked 15 years at Mission Plastic in Jackson. She was married to Raymond Earl Cothren in 1991. They made their home in the Sweetlips Community.
She is survived by a son, James David (Paula) Graham of Malesus; one daughter, Sheila Dianne Jones of Henderson; stepsons, Jerry (Judy) Cothren of Henderson and Mike (Rita) Cothren of Jacks Creek; stepdaughters, Lois Ann (Wayne) Brown of Bolivar and Lisa Marie (John) Lawrence of Memphis; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joe Ellis Wilkens of Vandalia, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Raymond Cothren (2012).
