BETTY ROGERS – Sept. 28, 1944 – Sept. 17, 2023

Betty Faye Bishop Rogers, 78, of Henderson passed away Sept. 17, 2023.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Anthony Rowland officiating.
Burial followed in the Henderson City Cemetery.
The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday and beginning at 11 a.m.-2 p.m. service time on Wednesday.
She was born Sept. 28, 1944, in the Sweetlips community of Chester County, the daughter of the late John Herman Bishop and Geneva Carlene Naylor Bishop Melton. She attended schools in Chester and Hardin County and graduated from Morris Chapel High School in 1963.
She was a hairdresser for many years. She happily was the caregiver for her mother and grandchildren when they were babies. She enjoyed playing basketball and riding motorcycles in her youth. She later enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Ann (Clay) Morris of Henderson and Mary Beth (Wesley) Rowland of Henderson; six grandchildren, Lana Rowland, Lexi Rowland, Luke Rowland, Tilley Morris, Riley Morris and Destiny Morris; brother, Bill Bishop of Flagler Beach, Fla.; and two sisters, Bonnie Perkins of Henderson and Gail Melton of Adamsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Max Ray Melton; a son, John Robert Crowe; one grandson, Zack Rowland; brothers, John Hughie Bishop and Clifford Ray Melton; a sister, Ann Johnson; and one nephew, Dean Johnson.
