Bill Brown Obituary – June 1, 1933 – July 16, 2022

William Ellis “Bill” Brown, 89, of Henderson passed away Saturday evening, July 16, 2022 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Bro. Ben Flatt officiating.
Burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue from noon-2 p.m. service time Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Henderson Church of Christ.
He was born June 1, 1933 in Madison County, the son of the late Elbert Clarence and Eddie Irene Lovell Brown.
He graduated from Gibson County High School in 1951. He helped his parents farm and worked for Brown Shoe Company. In 1957 he began working for Delta Airlines in Chicago, Ill. He was transferred to Memphis and retired from Delta in 1992 following 35 years.
He served as a deacon for the Whitehaven Church of Christ and the Goodman Oaks Church of Christ for many years while living in Memphis.
He married Charlene Covington on Jan. 31, 1960. William and Charlene moved to Henderson to enjoy retirement in the country in 1992. His hobbies included wood working, gardening and enjoying the peacefulness of the country. He was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Charlene, and son, Jeffery Lloyd Brown.
He was preceded in death by his son, Andy; parents, Elbert and Eddie Brown; a sister, Angelin Henderson; and one brother, Carl Brown.
