Billy Frank Latham, 79, of Beech Bluff passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2019 at the home of his daughter.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Ronnie Geary officiating. A private family burial followed later at New Friendship Cemetery. The family received friends at East Main from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday.
He was born Dec. 3, 1939 in Chester County, the son of the late Obie Frank and Exie Mae Griffin Latham. He grew up in Chester County and graduated from Chester County High School in 1958. He married Elizabeth Jean Clark, Dec. 17, 1960.  
He farmed and worked his family sawmill, which he continued to run until 1999. He also built houses for over 30 years. In 2000 he and his wife Jean opened Bill’s Bar-B-Que in Henderson and ran it until 2015.
He and Jean always worked together, and they enjoyed being together to do all things! He was a member of the New Friendship Baptist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Patty (Joe) Joyner of Beech Bluff and Cristy (Robert) Nail of Beech Bluff; a son, Keith Latham of Lexington; five grandchildren, April Young, Sarah Jones, Bradley Joyner, Drew Latham and Cameron Latham; 10 great-grandchildren, Trenton Morris, Lane Faulkner, Noah Young, William Young, Lillie Joyner, Karlie Joyner, Ryan and Maddie, Zoey Lynn Jones and Ruby Jean Elizabeth Jones; a brother, Jerry Latham of Milan; three sisters, Jo Ann Williams of Jackson, Dorothy Gaddy of Henderson and Yvonne Jones of Beech Bluff.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth Jean Clark Latham (11-21-2015); a brother, Wayne Latham; and two sisters, Nadine Plunk and Joyce Fowler.
