BILLENE HEMBY Obituary – APRIL 21, 1947 – DEC. 24, 2021

Mary Billene Latham Hemby, 74, of Henderson passed away Dec. 24, 2021 at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Bro. Glenn Harris officiating. Burial followed in the Montezuma Cemetery. The family received friends at East Main Chapel from noon until service time at 2 p.m. on Monday.
She was born April 21, 1947 in Jackson, the daughter of the late William C. and Ruth Marelle Wadley Latham. She grew up in Bemis and attended Southside High School until her senior year when she married and graduated from Chester County High School in 1965. She married Roy Hemby on July 8, 1964 and they made their home in Chester County. She was primarily a homemaker but did work outside of the home at Salant & Salant Mfg., the ASCS Office in Henderson and Graham’s Snacks in Jackson and then worked as manager of the Americana Inn in Henderson until retirement.   
She liked to sew and quilt, cooking and playing solitaire. She was a member of the Old Friendship Baptist Church.   
She is survived by two daughters, Mary (Windell) Beshires and Renee (Andy) Thomas; a son, Troy (Holly) Hemby, all of Henderson; grandchildren, Brittany Thomas, Reyna Thomas, April (Nick) Phillips, Jacob (Brandie) Beshires Hunter (Peyton Davidson) Hemby and Hannah (Beau) Hunt; great-grandchildren, Briggs Hunt and Sadie Phillips; one brother, Carey Latham of Jackson; and three sisters, Debbie Woods, Marelle Mitchell and Dianne Egbert all of Jackson.   
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Roy Allen Hemby in 2014.
