Several Chester County High School and Jr. High Chorus students have been working hard since school started to prepare for auditioning for All-West Honor Choirs. The annual honor choir comprises some of the best singers from high schools and middle schools, both public and private, across all of West TN. Auditions for Sr. High were held Sept. 30 and Jr. High followed on Oct. 28. CCHS had ten students make the Sr. High choir, another that made alternate, and they even had a student achieve first chair. For Jr. High, five CCJHS and two CCHS students made it, another two made alternate positions, and another student also achieved first chair. Director Janet Sain says, “I’m so proud of the hard work, time and effort, and determination that these students have demonstrated. This is an incredible achievement for our students and our schools! Our choral program is growing and our students are becoming outstanding young musicians.” The 17 students will perform at Liberty High School on Saturday, November 18. The Jr. High concert is at 11 a.m. and the Sr. High concert is at 2 p.m. Admission is $5 and open to the community.
