A select group of 13 CCJHS Chorus students went to participate in the Memphis Area Honor Choir on January 25th and 26th. Area choir programs came together at Overton High School and rehearsed under the direction of three guest clinicians from the area. Dr. Dena Vaughn, Dr. Elisha Curry, and Mrs. Pamela Williams. They learned and performed four songs in less than 24 hours. It was an awesome weekend and it exposed our students to diverse Choral repertoire. I hope to go back next year and allow more students to have the opportunity to participate. I’Yonna McKinnie, an 8th grader was chosen to sing a solo for the performance.
