CHARLIE KENT Obituary – Jan. 23, 1938 – Feb. 23, 2023

Charles Lee Kent, 85, of Enville passed away Feb. 23, 2023, at his home. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Adamsville Chapel with Tommy Wade and Keith Carlson officiating. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery at Enville. The family received friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Adamsville Chapel beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday until service time. 
He was born Jan. 23, 1938, in Enville, the son of the late John U. and Cora Hanna Kent. He went to school at Enville and Adamsville and graduated from Adamsville High School in 1958. He moved to Ohio and from there entered the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany.
He worked for E and L Transport in Lorain, Ohio, delivering Ford Cars by Transport Truck for 49 years. He then went to work for Jack Cooper Transport in Avon Lake, Ohio. He loaded and unloaded Ford vehicles at dealerships for 53 years, retiring in 2013.
He moved back to Enville in 2013. His wife Joyce preceded him in death in 2011. He was a member of the Enville Church of Christ. He enjoyed antique show cars.   
He is survived by a son, John J. Kent of Shelby, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Pam Barnes of Burlin Heights, Ohio, and Tammy Farley of Huron, Ohio; and a companion, Annie Ruth Massengill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce Kent (2011); and a son Charles L. Kent, Jr.
