Christie Doreen Morris Pugh, 68, of Enville passed away at home on Jan. 2, 2021.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Shiloh Baptist Church with Bro. Sam McAdams officiating. Burial followed in the Roby Cemetery. The family received friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, and then from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
She was born on Feb. 16, 1952 in Pekin, Ill. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1970. She received her Associate’s Degree from Jackson State Community College in 1972, Bachelor’s Degree from Union University in 1974 and later her Master’s Degree in Business Education from the University of Memphis in 1981. She taught for 37 years in the Chester County School System before retiring in 2014. She first taught math at Chester County Junior High School and then spent the majority of her career teaching business education courses at Chester County High School. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church of Reagan, where she has been an actively involved member for over 50 years.
She is survived by one daughter, Ashley Pugh, of Enville; her parents, Waymon and Faye Morris, of Enville; one sister, Phyllis (Mike) LeCornu, of Henderson; and other family members and friends.
