CONNIE MCKINNEY Obituary – Nov. 9, 1941 – Jan. 25, 2022

Connie Rose Sikes McKinney, 80, of Jackson passed away Jan. 25, 2022 at her home.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with James McKinney, Jr. and Daryl Moffett officiating.
Burial followed in Big Springs Cemetery at Pinson.
The family received friends at East Main from 5-8 p.m. on Friday and beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday until service time.
She was born Nov. 9, 1941 in Madison County, the daughter of the late James Allen and Mary Christine Ballard Sikes. She married James Robert McKinney, Sr. on March 22, 1960. They made their home in Pinson. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. 
She was a member of the Pinson Church of God for over 30 years.
She loved spending time helping to raise and enjoy her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, James (Carolyn) McKinney of Jackson and Thomas (Marcia) McKinney of Crump; two daughters, Susan C. Howard of Finger and Melonie (Neil) Black of Henderson; grandchildren, Curtis McKinney, Holly Smith, Cody McKinney, Jessica Cruz, Johnathon Cotner, Alayna Finch, Matthew Puckett, Hailey Puckett, Jamie McKinney, James King, Andy Bricker, John Bricker and Sammie Black; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Jackie (Shirley) Sikes of Henderson; and sisters, Phyllis Hough of Tampa, Fla., and Jo Lynn (James) Armstrong of Lexington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Robert McKinney, Sr. on Dec. 31, 2008; five brothers, Walter Sikes, Steve Sikes, Tim Sikes, Roy Sikes and Allyn Sikes; and a sister, Nancy Jackson.
