Dan Moore Obituary – April 26, 1934 – Dec. 25, 2019

Daniel Hughes Moore, 85, of Finger passed away Wednesday, Dec. 25, at his home in Finger. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Shackelford Crook Avenue Chapel with Iran Smith officiating.  Burial followed at Old Friendship Cemetery. The family received friends at the Crook Avenue Chapel beginning at noon Saturday.
He was born and reared at Collierville, April 26, 1934 the son of the late Daniel Alexander and Mary Katherine Pounders Moore.  He graduated high school in Collierville, entered the U.S. Army and served in Korea and Okinawa. He married Shirley Kennon in 1955, and they made their home in Moscow.
He was route manager for National Tobacco and Amusement Company in Memphis, retiring in 2000. He married Kay Shelton in 1995, and they made their home in the Old Friendship Community after his retirement in 2000. He was a member of Old Friendship Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Moore; two sons, Richard Marvin “Rick” Moore of Winchester and Ralph Hughes (Donna) Moore of Moscow; a brother, Richard Clark Moore of Red Banks, Miss.; four grandchildren, Ryan Matthew Moore, Nicole (Jon) Moore Crum, Philip Richard Moore and Lucas Keith Moore; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Shirley; a brother, James Moore; two sisters, Juanita Moore Saterfiel and Wilma Moore Collins; and a daughter-in-law Emily Schramm Moore.
