Daniel West Obituary – April 25, 2021

Daniel “Danny” West, 72, passed away April 25, 2021 after fighting a long battle with cancer. A celebration of life will be held from noon-2 p.m. July 10 at West Memorial Baptist Church in Saulsbury. Drop In.
He was born and raised in Bolivar. He retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas after 42 years, working in Jackson, Jessup, Md., and Fort Smith, Ark. His expertise took him to Europe and all around the U.S.
The simple pleasures in life brought him the most joy – grandkids doing anything, boating, hunting (deer camp), sitting on the porch (sipping on Jack Daniels), being a grill master and fixing things no one else could.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sheila Hatch West; a combined family of four children, Angela West, Carrie West Avent, Michelle (Josh) Cox Swart and Tim (Beth) West; siblings, Steve West, Judy (Houston) West Kirk, Cathy West and Tina West O’Neal; 10 grandchildren; in-laws, Odell and Carmen Hatch and Anthony (Vicki) Hatch.
He was preceded in death by his parents, U.D. West, Jr. and Muriel Doyle West, and a brother, Jimmy West.
